00:00That's going to be a priority, right, Brad, to get a long-term deal done, whatever that
00:05is for a 32-year-old guard Joe Tooney?
00:08Yeah, you know what, I thought his answers were fine, it's just he wasn't, like, he doesn't
00:14control it.
00:15If the team wants to talk to him about a pay raise or an extension, then they know how
00:21to get a hold of his agent, right?
00:24And most guys are a little uncomfortable talking about contract situations, especially when
00:30they're thrown into a new spot.
00:33Here's what I believe, okay, this is my opinion, if the Bears want to present Joe Tooney as
00:40this leader for them, they need to put actions into place here, and actions are extending
00:51the guy's contract.
00:52I do not believe they traded with the Kansas City Chiefs to acquire him with the intention
00:58of him starting for them for one season.
01:02Is there a sense of urgency, a rush to get that done?
01:07No, okay, not at all.
01:10They've got plenty of time, but I also don't believe you can hold the guy up as this great
01:17example of new leadership that you've brought into your locker room without proving it with
01:24the contract.
01:25So is that something that happens late in the spring?
01:28I've got no guess as to a timeline, but in my opinion, that's something that would at
01:38some point need to take place.
