00:00The supporters of former President Rodrigo Duterte are waiting at the ICC detention center in Dahaig, the Netherlands.
00:12We have live news. GMA Integrated News stringer Andy Peña-Fuerte III. Andy, good morning from the Philippines. How is the situation there in Dahaig?
00:22Yes, yes.
00:24Good morning Andy from the Philippines. How is the situation there in Dahaig?
00:29Good evening from Dahaig. It's 11.03pm here in Dahaig.
00:35Earlier, more than 200 Filipinos and most of their supporters of former President Rodrigo Duterte gathered in front of the Hague Penitentiary Institution.
00:49They waited for almost seven hours in front of the supporters of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
00:56While most of them were waiting, they crossed the border, my country and I are Filipinos, while they were breaking our peace.
01:07Andy, what time did the convoy arrive? Former President Duterte was in Dahaig.
01:15Former President Duterte's convoy arrived at 7.34pm here in Dahaig or 2.34am in the Philippines.
01:25A black SUV entered the gate of the penitentiary.
01:30We asked the police if the former President Duterte was driving a car and the police confirmed it.
01:40Former President Duterte was accompanied by former Executive Secretary Medialdea, a nurse, and his personal security.
01:49Do we have information on who accompanied him, Andy?
01:53We haven't received any information about the people who accompanied him here in Dahaig.
02:01Do we have information on the arrival of Vice President Sara or the former President's children?
02:09As of now, we haven't received any confirmed information on the arrival of the Vice President.
02:15But other local media here said that we talked to them earlier.
02:21They said that Sara Duterte is already here, but we're still confirming this information.
02:28Are there Filipinos who will be coming back here tomorrow at your time in Dahaig Penitentiary Institution, Andy?
02:36Most of the Filipinos we talked to said that they will be coming back and they will go to the ICC to support our President and Vice President Sara Duterte.
02:47We can see that there's a protest action, Andy.
02:51In Dahaig, can we say that they're respecting the freedom of expression or are they being strict?
02:59I can see that they're very close to the gate of the Penitentiary.
03:08We're in front of the gate of the Penitentiary Institution.
03:14So far, we've seen that the police let the Filipinos protest.
03:22If we look at the situation here, it's peaceful.
03:28Although we were the first to arrive at the ICC, where other Filipinos are gathering,
03:33some of them really expressed their support for the former President.
03:39But when we arrived in front of the Penitentiary, they really waited.
03:45Most of them are also live-streaming and letting their fellow Filipinos know that this is the situation here in Dahaig.
03:56It's getting dark there. It looks like it's still cold.
04:00What's the temperature in Dahaig right now, Andy?
04:03It's cold. It's hard to speak.
04:06I think the temperature in Dahaig is around one degree Celsius.
04:12Despite the cold weather earlier, the Filipinos who supported the former President,
04:21they went here.
04:27Yes. Can you kindly share, Andy, what is the profile of our fellow Filipinos there?
04:32Are there a lot of Filipinos in the Netherlands?
04:35In the confirmed number of Filipinos in the Netherlands, we're still looking for those confirmed from the embassy.
04:41But among the people we talked to earlier, the supporters of the former President,
04:46some of them came from Belgium and Germany.
04:50And we also talked to a vacationer from Japan.
04:54He tried to get a comment, but he said that he's been here for years,
05:00that he's been on vacation here, and he wants to see the situation.
05:04As for our fellow Filipinos based here in the Netherlands or Dahaig,
05:11we talked to a Master's student who has been living here in Dahaig for eight years.
05:18Her view on the arrest of the former President Duterte is very interesting.
05:24She questioned it.
05:25She said that this student is the one who arrested the former President.
05:31And aside from the Filipinos, we also talked to Dutch people.
05:36They have a placard that this Dutchman distributed
05:43about the arrest of the former President.
05:47And this Dutchman said that he welcomes his work as a criminal.
05:57He's talking about former President Duterte.
05:59There's a Dutchman who used to work in the Philippines during President Ramos' time,
06:05and he talked about a courtesy visit of former President Duterte.
06:11He said that the former President Duterte is a tough guy.
06:17Now, when he heard about the arrest of the former President,
06:23he was surprised and he was wondering how our government allowed him
06:30to bring the former President to Dahaig.
06:35Andy Peña Fuerte, thank you for the updates you gave us.
06:40Good night in the Netherlands.
