00:00In the field of technology, the mission of some experts is to bring life to the extinct
00:10elephants led by Wooly Mammoth, the example of a biotechnology company in America that
00:17to achieve this, made genetically modified cattle.
00:21Is this possible?
00:23Brother Kim, what's next?
00:30This cattle is very cute and very fluffy.
00:33But did you know that they are not just simple cattle?
00:36Their tail is not longer than a hammock.
00:39They are genetically modified laboratory mice.
00:42Made by a biotechnology company in America in the hope of de-extincting an animal that
00:47lived on our planet thousands of years ago, the Wooly Mammoth.
00:52So we actually engineered a mouse equivalent of mammoth genes that we've identified on
00:57our quest to bring back the mammoth into mice in a healthy way and produce what we
01:02believe is a cold-tolerant, woolly, phenotype-driven mice.
01:07Wooly Mammoth are extinct species of elephants with long tails and can survive in extremely
01:13cold climates.
01:14Through genetic modification or editing of genes to copy the characteristics of an animal,
01:20Wooly Mammoth have mammoth-inspired traits, just like their wooly coat or tail.
01:26But is it possible to de-extinct or revive an animal through genetic modification?
01:32This experiment is far from being able to copy the characteristics of mammals.
01:36We birthed 38 mice and they were all, you know, edited and happy and healthy and there weren't
01:41any unintended consequences besides the fact that they were massively adorable.
01:46But it is not yet possible for mammals to live.
01:50Always remember that knowledge is important.
01:53I will answer these questions in 24 hours.
