00:00Good morning, making your favorite sweet potato.
00:23Good morning guys.
00:24It was an early morning today.
00:26Tate wanted to wake up at like 5.50 this morning.
00:31So we had a little bit of an early start.
00:34So our schedule is looking a little different today.
00:37We've been experimenting with foods with him and stuff
00:39and we're figuring out like what he loves
00:41and what he doesn't like.
00:43Sweet potato, high on the list, loves it.
00:46Banana, low on the list, which is surprising to me.
00:50He doesn't, he just, he just doesn't like it.
00:53He's just not into it, which, okay.
00:57Fellas, say hi.
00:59Super sweet potato.
01:00Hello, nice to meet you.
01:04Let's go, yeah.
01:05We're gonna go keep him safe.
01:06Let's go.
01:07Whoa, sorry, we're gonna go to the kitchen.
01:09Joy, let's go outside, get some dry food out there.
01:15There there Joy, get the food out.
01:17Let's go gossip.
01:19Nobody wants to see you.
01:22Let's go.
01:22All to the fire.
01:24Hurray.
01:25Hurry up.
01:25Da, da, da, da, da.
01:27Da, da, da, da, da.
01:29Da, da, da, da, da.
01:30Da, da, da, da, da.
01:32Da, da, da, da, da.
01:33Da, da, da, da, da.
01:35Da, da, da, da, da.
01:37Yum.
01:39Are you almost ready to go?
01:41Yeah?
01:42It's been so good that I jumped in the bath
01:45and changed my clothes, which is so amazing.
01:48Because today's kind of like our reset day.
01:50Today's Monday.
01:51So I want to blow through the house and clean.
01:54And I cleaned really well right when I got here,
01:57but now, you know, we've been here for a little bit.
01:58And wash the sheets, just do like a reset.
02:01And also, first, we're going to take a trip into town.
02:06I have a little bit of trim that I need to pick up
02:10from Lowe's.
02:12That little trim that I got for the transom windows,
02:14but I'm like one piece short.
02:16So for the backside, for the closet side.
02:18So I'm going to get some more of that
02:20and probably quite a few more
02:22because now I can count how many transom windows
02:25I need to build, which are one, two, three, four more.
02:33Four more transom windows for the house.
02:35Get enough trim to do all of them.
02:37So I already have it.
02:38And I'm going to run to the store
02:40and we're going to get him some few things.
02:41Didn't bring any of his like food utensils.
02:46So he's just been making a mess.
02:48Like I didn't bring a bib or a spoon.
02:50We only had one set in LA and I was like,
02:52oh, I'm not going to bring this one.
02:53I'll just get another one.
02:54And we just haven't.
02:55He's just been making a mess of his clothes
02:57and a mess of everything.
02:59And then it'll be a little later
03:00and I can drop him at my mom's for a few hours while I work.
03:04I have some computer work that I need to take care of.
03:07So we'll do that today.
03:08And then tomorrow diving back into the next phase
03:11of the bathroom, which is going to be like
03:12around the tub area.
03:14You ready to go on an adventure?
03:19You want to go on an adventure?
03:22Hey!
03:23Oh, you took off your sock again.
03:24Oh, your toes are out.
03:27It's also a little mini project on our list today.
03:29I had to fix that drawer.
03:31I don't know if you guys noticed it
03:32when I was filming in here last vlog,
03:34that I took it out, something fell behind it.
03:36I took it out.
03:37And then when I was trying to put it back in,
03:39it kept slipping off the track.
03:42And for the life of me, I could not get it to stay.
03:44I think it's a little bit,
03:45the drawer is just that much too narrow to where it,
03:51now it's just, it's just slipping.
03:52I don't know how I got it perfect the first time,
03:54but I need to build out the side a little bit.
03:56It's a super simple fix and I just need to do it.
03:59I got frustrated.
03:59It wouldn't stay.
04:00And I just like push it back in there and it was crooked.
04:03And now I'm like, okay, I'll get to you later.
04:04Okay, we're on our way.
04:05I'm actually going to go scoop up my mom.
04:07I called her and she needs to drop some stuff off.
04:11Like in town, we try and make the most of every trip
04:14because it's not super close by,
04:17not down the street, you know?
04:18So, might as well just like make a run together
04:21and do our errands.
04:22How'd you do that?
04:23How did he, how did he get that?
04:27What is that for?
04:28Promotes self-feeding.
04:33I like those.
04:34And we need you a little bib.
04:42Guys, made it back.
04:44It was misty overcast raining.
04:47Now it's sunny and the most intense winds.
04:52I just now, a tree fell.
04:55I'll show you.
04:56It actually feels like it's going to pick up the house.
05:00Like it sounds so loud.
05:02And I went outside to the car to get the bags.
05:04I had to turn around.
05:05I couldn't even close the door.
05:07It was so strong.
05:09The weather is like all over the place here.
05:12Anyways, we made it back.
05:13And I got, so I was just washing the baby's
05:16kind of new stuff.
05:17I just got him one of those little silicone bibs.
05:20They only had green.
05:22I thought it was there.
05:23I was like, maybe I should have just ordered
05:25something online.
05:26You know, I could have, but they had green.
05:28I was like, well, it could be worse.
05:29My mom was like, could it?
05:31I was like, I don't know.
05:32So I got him that.
05:33And then I got him the little bowl and also a cup.
05:36He's starting to drink water and stuff.
05:38So I got him a cup too.
05:41He loves balls like this.
05:42Teether balls, loves these things.
05:45So I was just washing these.
05:47My mom's going to watch him for the next couple of hours.
05:48I've already done some computer work since I've been back
05:50and I want to keep cleaning the house.
05:52Time has flown by.
05:55I can't believe we've been in Texas a month already.
05:58It feels like a day.
06:00I guess I've just been busy every day.
06:02I spent the first week I was here just cleaning the house,
06:05getting it perfect, you know, to move into
06:07because it had been so long and it definitely needed it.
06:11You know, now we just keep up with it.
06:13And you know, like the times in between
06:15when we aren't here aren't going to be as long.
06:17I was literally pregnant and had the baby
06:20and the baby was seven months old.
06:23You know, that was always the plan was to stay put
06:25for the first six months and then reevaluate, you know,
06:29kind of taking a new adventure in life step-by-step
06:32instead of making a whole bunch of decisions
06:34before I even know how to be a mom kind of thing.
06:36So I feel like it's gone by so fast that it's time to
06:40like kind of like do a refresh and a re-clean.
06:42So I'm going to put all the sheets into the wash.
06:44And this sheet set that we've had,
06:46this linen set is from Brooklinen
06:48and they just sent me some new things,
06:51some new colors that I've been really wanting
06:53to swap out the bedding here.
06:54So a big thank you to Brooklinen
06:55for sponsoring today's video
06:56because you guys know we love them.
06:58We have them on our bed here and in LA.
07:01I've tried all of their different collections,
07:03their Lux Satin, their linen, their classic.
07:07I love them all for different reasons.
07:08And when I added the rug in here
07:10and a little piece of art and the lamp,
07:12I just wanted to like cozy up this space
07:14to make it feel a little more like home,
07:16even though it's totally in various stages of renovation.
07:20Wanted to warm up the bedding set
07:21to hopefully inspire the space
07:24and the design coming together.
07:25I loved this color that they had.
07:26It was called Driftwood and I want to mix it.
07:29I want to put the mood underneath, put Driftwood,
07:32and then on top, come back with a cream duvet cover
07:36and also a darker throw.
07:37It's definitely pulling colors from the rug
07:40and then you can pull it up onto the bed
07:41to tie it in together and make it really warm in here.
07:44Brooklyn and Sheets actually have
07:46over 200,000 five-star reviews,
07:48so I'm definitely not the only one that loves them.
07:50And I love how effortless they make it to style your bed
07:54from the different colors that you can pick from
07:56and even patterns to mix and match maybe your sheets
07:59and your duvet and your pillows, add a throw on top.
08:02They even have some new colors and prints to choose from.
08:04They have a stone color and lagoon,
08:07like some really pretty blues that I saw in there
08:10and a few striped options.
08:12It's actually Brooklyn and Sleep Week sale,
08:13so if you click the Brooklyn and link
08:15in my description box, you'll get a special offer.
08:17And no matter if you're a returning customer like me
08:19and you've loved it for years
08:20or you're finding out about Brooklyn for the first time,
08:22there's definitely something for you.
08:25So definitely click the link and check them out.
08:27I have the Luxe Hardcore Bundle set.
08:29So you get the fitted sheet, flat sheet, and duvet cover,
08:32and then four pillowcases.
08:34And then you can kind of mix and match
08:36some of the fabrication to give you a different look
08:39or match your decor.
08:40Love it.
08:41Highly, highly recommend.
08:42We love it.
08:43She loves it, too.
08:45Ah, ah, ah, ah.
08:46♪♪♪
08:53Okay, I got clothes in the wash, and I want to,
08:56oh, I have a straightener here.
08:57Oh, I never straighten my hair.
09:00Probably why I didn't miss it.
09:01I never, I always curl my hair.
09:02I never straighten it.
09:03If I'm gonna do something, I curl it.
09:05Okay, I want to work on this drawer.
09:08I need to take everything out
09:09and take some measurements on, like,
09:10figure out where it went, it all went wrong.
09:14Also, the lack of organization right here.
09:17Like, I feel like we piled things here,
09:20and that's like, I feel, ugh.
09:21And there's like, look, shaving cream.
09:23Like, I gotta clean all this.
09:24Romeo.
09:25I think the problem lies in the type of drawer slides
09:28that I got for this cabinet
09:31and for some of the other projects I've worked on.
09:33There's no forgiveness.
09:35The measurement has to be exact.
09:39And this one's fine.
09:41Like, totally fine.
09:42Soft clothes, totally fine.
09:45Something happened here.
09:46So I need to measure 22 and 5 eighths.
09:51It's literally, it's an eighth of an inch.
09:54That's the problem.
09:55I need to add an eighth of an inch.
09:56And I've got some, like, scrap wood outside that I can do.
10:01I just need to add it.
10:02Like, I tried to, like, shove something in there
10:04and it didn't work.
10:05Let's hope I don't get blown away.
10:07These gusts come, like, it's calm,
10:09and then it's like a gust of wind.
10:12I have three limbs down already.
10:16Pretty big limbs.
10:17I already had one down that I tried to move to the back,
10:21and it was too heavy.
10:22I couldn't move it by myself.
10:24So I was like, okay, we'll do that later.
10:26Now I've got a few more.
10:28So I've got some eighth inch wood here
10:31that I slimmed down off of some boards
10:33that I was working on for the bathroom,
10:35and I can add it just right there.
10:39So,
10:57sometimes it's literally the smallest fix.
11:01It's something that could annoy you for a long time,
11:03you know?
11:04Okay, moment of truth.
11:08Okay. I did not change the height. Like, I did not change the height. I put it right
11:21back in. Oh, really? How did I make it higher on that side? It just doesn't do the soft
11:32close really well on this one. Maybe the thing is messed up. It works. I don't know. That's
11:38so weird that something was off with that drawer. Now I can organize it and clean all
11:42of this. Some of this stuff probably needs to be gone through. The travel shampoo is
11:48probably good. Does that stuff expire? Like, everything could expire, but who does it?
11:53Ooh, I have nail polish here. Notifications on is the code. Ooh, body mist. Smells so
12:09good. It's from a store in town. Juniper, anise, and patchouli. I like juniper, but
12:14I wouldn't normally like the spices in the other two, but something about this blend
12:19smells really good. I wish I'd actually made these drawers deeper, like our kitchen. You
12:24know, if it were a little bit deeper, I could put tall stuff like this. Like, that was the
12:27best move, making them so deep. Ooh, that fits. Does this fit? Oh, it does fit. Okay.
12:44So I cleaned a little bit, and I'm back here in the bathroom because I wanted to put some
12:47tile on the wall, determine how I'm going to apply the tile to the back of the bathroom.
12:54And I wanted to start my intro and stuff for today just so that I can start working on
12:58the tile tomorrow. So here's the two options. The only thing I've settled on is that I want
13:04to do it in a brick pattern, but I don't know if I want to do the brick pattern horizontal,
13:10like that one, or vertical, like that. So I put a poll on my Instagram stories, and
13:17you guys are too divided. It's like too close to 50-50. It's like a personal preference.
13:22And I know that design is always a personal preference, but like, I kind of wanted it
13:27to be like something I wasn't seeing. Like, it was so obvious. Like, so obviously you
13:32need to do it horizontal. Like, why would you think anything other than that? You know,
13:38I wanted a landslide. It's been up for 24 minutes, 3,000 votes, and it's 45-55. Look
13:47at that, 45-55. I don't know. I don't know. My mom's not answering. Because once you do
13:59it, it's on the wall. It's like done. It's like, aye! Did you get my picture? Look at
14:04it really quick. Yeah, I need to decide which direction I'm going to go with the tile.
14:09Show me the whole wall. Oh my god, it's a toss-up. I know. How are you doing the tile in the shower?
14:17It's going up. It's picket. I know. I put it on my Instagram stories for people to vote,
14:21and it's basically 50-50. 50-50 with me too, because I'm thinking if I just look at that,
14:28and I'm thinking ahead, that if you do the mirror sideways, and the floor really looks
14:36like it's going sideways, you really don't see the shower. You're not going to be able to see it,
14:40no. So I'm leaning more sideways, but it's a 50-50. Okay, mom and I talked through other
14:47elements in the space. What's happening with the windows? What's happening with potential
14:52wallpaper? What's happening with the direction of the floors to the direction of the tile in the
14:57shower? All of the elements combined, and I think I feel more comfortable with my decision. I don't
15:06want to say what it is, because if I change my mind, I don't want you to be like, that's not
15:09what you said. I don't know. But I do have to decide this, because I'm starting this in the
15:16morning. I just wanted to get started and start thinking about it, so I had time to make a
15:20decision. Let's see what the vote is for. Okay, it's up to like 6,000 votes. It's still 45-55,
15:29with 55% horizontal, so that side. I'm going to do a few more things on the computer,
15:36load this footage, so I have it already, and then go get Cade. It's bath night,
15:41so we'll do our night routine and stuff. Are you ready? Are you having so much more fun?
15:53It's your pirate. Where's your pirate ship?
16:00Oh, good job. Good job.
16:03Oh, okay. Got the baby bag. I was just doing some computer work. I got in some wallpaper samples
16:12for the bathroom, and they messed up and sent me the one that I was kind of looking forward to
16:19seeing. They didn't send it to me. They sent it to me in a different color way, and it was supposed
16:23to come in in this like sable brown color, and it came in in blue. I'm like, no. So I'm like a little
16:31bit disappointed in that because I won't get to see it in person. I'll just like ask for credit or
16:35something, but another one is definitely a contender. I'm trying to figure out my thoughts
16:40because wallpaper's expensive. Quality wallpaper can be expensive, so I just want to make sure that
16:46I'm like doing it right and like thinking through all of my options and like getting the look
16:53without overdoing it or overspending. When I calculated how much I was going to need for all
16:58the places I wanted to put it in the bathroom, I was like, this is a lot. And so I started
17:03costing out like, okay, like if I did half as much wallpaper, what would be my solution for that? So
17:08I was like trying to work through my thoughts kind of thing. Our water softener is giving right now.
17:16Oh, I've got everything fixed. Everything's like perfect, and the water is amazing. So I just want
17:22to make sure that I'm like thinking through all of my options. Like maybe I want to do like,
17:27you know, a wall paneling or like a, you know, like wainscoting on a portion of the wall and then
17:34do the wallpaper up top or do a combination of walls and so much to think through. And it's also
17:41a really tall, pretty large bathroom. So I think that that's why it's like so much wallpaper if I
17:47was to do like floor to ceiling. I can't tell you this much. I do not want to play it safe. I've got
17:53all this tile already that I've already invested in that's very warm grain neutral and versatile.
18:00It's it is safe. I feel like although it has a lot of texture, and I'm using a lot of different types
18:05of tile pairing with that, like I want to push my own boundaries. One, I mean, wallpaper is doing
18:10that in general, because I haven't ever used wallpaper in a room before. And because I wasn't
18:16really able to find any like killer inspiration for what I want in my head. It's kind of scary.
18:23It's a little bit daunting. You're like, am I trying to attempt to do something that
18:28hasn't really been done in the same way before, which is always something I really strive for,
18:33but is it going to work out? So it's a little bit scary when you're going to invest in something
18:36like wallpaper. Like, is it all going to pan out? And it's when you're ordering it says final sale.
18:42I don't know. I've literally come in here and just stared at the walls and looked up and looked
18:46around and kind of like analyzing trying to like feel the space like it's somehow going to speak
18:52to me. And honestly, rooms speak rooms have a feeling they like, you know, can evoke it like
18:59how I'm imagining how things could look and take standing in the space. And at least for me,
19:05like I have to like experience it and see all my samples together and stuff. So it will come
19:10together and I'm hoping it will be absolutely beautiful. And you guys don't forget about
19:16Brooklyn and they're having their sleep week sale. So definitely take advantage and click the link
19:20in my description box to see all their new colors and their patterns and stuff and, and upgrade
19:27your bedding so you can take advantage of a special offer. And I'm starting the next phase
19:31of the bathroom in the morning, working on the tub area and also kind of like perfecting the doors
19:36still, you know, like I'll, I'll work on those and make sure they're all going to fit well and
19:40stuff, but we'll go ahead and paint them and then install them after the tub area is going to be
19:44fun to do with like the tile and finally putting the tub. So it's not sitting in here, you know,
19:51it's, it's like ready to go. It's just, well, it's not ready to go. It actually needs the feet on it
19:55and stuff. So we have a lot in that area to do all the trim around the windows, whole area right
20:01there, everything about it. I'm excited. I like to do tile. I'll see you guys in the next vlog. Bye guys.
