The Delhi government is set to launch the Mahila Samriddhi scheme, fulfilling a key BJP poll promise. The initiative, targeting women aged 18-60 with annual incomes below Rs 3 lakh, will provide Rs 2,500 monthly to an estimated 20 lakh beneficiaries.

00:14launch the Mahila Samriddhi scheme to support the women of the National Capital financially.
00:19The initiative was a key poll promise that was made by the Bharatiya Janata Party during
00:24the run-up to the Delhi Assembly elections.
00:26The implementation will take place today on International Women's Day.
00:31Under this scheme, it is expected that close to 20 lakh women will benefit across the National
00:36Capital.
00:37Eligible women will be receiving 2500 rupees per month from the government.
00:41The scheme targets women aged between 18 years to 60 years and those who have an income of
00:46less than 3 lakh rupees annually.
00:49It will not include those who are government employees or already are receiving some sort
00:53of financial aid from the government.
00:55Political fireworks are taking place with regards to the issue.
00:59It's the Aam Aadmi Party, the opposition party in the National Capital, which is now demanding
