00:00You're always interested in moves that don't require draft capital because it's only money,
00:06and they have a lot of it to spend.
00:09But in a move like this, you do start to look at what you have left in the bank in terms
00:15of draft capital.
00:16You've got three picks in the first 41 spots in the NFL draft.
00:23Do you think that a second rounder would be worth Trey Hendrickson coming to the Bears
00:29as well as being willing to pay him all of the money that he would command?
00:35I think you've got to believe, you've got to be willing to think that the answer is
00:41yes.
00:43Because what do you want in a second round draft pick?
00:46Somebody that is going to come in and be here a long time and rush the passer if you pick
00:50a pass rusher.
00:51Let's say just keep it to that spot.
00:53You want an edge that's going to be here a long time.
00:55Well by the time that you're going to be dealing with that person coming into his own, you'll
01:00be dealing with maybe Caleb Williams and his second contract, which is going to be enormous
01:06if all goes well.
01:07I would pursue this trade.
01:09There are two teams that have connections to Trey Hendrickson, the Colts and the Bears,
01:14because of the defensive coordinators he's played for.
01:17And I would pursue this trade because Trey Hendrickson has been consistent, remarkably
01:21consistent.
01:22We always talk about they need a pass rusher opposite Montez Sweat.
01:26You know what Trey Hendrickson would do?
01:28Trey Hendrickson would give the Bears somebody that we would talk about, we would say, you
01:33need a pass rusher opposite Trey Hendrickson because he's a better pass rusher than Montez
01:37Sweat and he's been more consistent and accomplished.
01:41That's why you're willing to give up a second round pick for him.
