Transcript
00:00The Chorus of Illawarra Women in full voice for the country's biggest International Women's
00:13Day lunch.
00:14Thank you for everyone who's been part of building this up.
00:19It's the event that brings the women of the Illawarra together.
00:22I feel really proud to be involved for 20 years.
00:27I know it started from very humble beginnings and it's grown year on year.
00:33The scale of this event gives us great capacity to make big change.
00:38I can remember I've been coming to this since I was knee high and it's very grounding to
00:44remember my mum's achievements and then be able to pass that on.
00:48I was about 11 years old I saw Karen McCann speak at a little athletics event and that
00:52is something that really stuck with me.
00:56Every year I was blown away by what these women were doing locally and the impact that
01:01was then having on the greater community.
01:05Gracie Day, as we call this day for us, it is the highlight of our year.
01:10It means everything to us.
01:12I just think wow we've really achieved something and I look forward to seeing what the next
01:1720 years bring.
01:21I enjoy it every year.
01:23I get girlfriends, I get friends.
01:26I love it every year.
01:28Twenty years, it seems like yesterday when it started for me.
01:32We would never in our wildest dreams probably thought we'd still be sitting here 20 years
01:36later.
01:37No, particularly at my age.
