A devastating fire swept through Kampung Cempaka in Likas, Sabah early Saturday (March 1) morning, destroying 80 homes and displacing 669 residents from 139 families.
The blaze erupted at 5:41 a.m. and rapidly engulfed a 250-square-meter area of densely packed homes.
Residents were forced to evacuate immediately, leaving behind their possessions and escaping with only the clothes they were wearing.
