00:00Hi, I'm Bob Mitchell, I'm Secretary of the Brandsburton Photon Club.
00:05We're here today because, as you'll be able to see, a 70 metre length of our boundary hedge has been removed
00:14by a member of the Brandsburton Playing Fields Trust with no permission either from ourselves or from the football club as far as we're aware.
00:25We're a club that's been here for over 33 years. Our president actually planted these Leylandii which were mature
00:34and as you can see, even from this one, they've been damaged and reached a height of about 3 to 4 metres
00:41and the width of getting on for 3 metres to provide a windbreak as well as a boundary that protected both the club members
00:52and the football club from either games interfering with each other when they're both being played at the same time.
00:59It goes without saying that we're extremely distressed at the action that's been taken.
01:08As I say, it was without any warning whatsoever and it was discovered by a member of our club on Thursday 13th February.
01:18It is in the hands of our solicitors and it's been reported to the police and I understand that the Hornsea Community Policing Team are looking into it even as we speak.
