00:00More than 11,000 people were arrested in Pogo,
00:05according to the Immigration Bureau.
00:09B.I. of Linaudin said that there is no answer
00:12if the people who were arrested were able to escape through connecting flights.
00:18Louisa Eris, Peso Central, Nang Balita.
00:23The Bureau of Immigration explained that
00:25up to now, there have been reports of people being deported by foreign nationals
00:30from the Philippines when they were passing through layovers or connecting flights.
00:35These are the foreigners who are being arrested by the government as illegal aliens
00:39because Pogo has been banned in the country since December 31,
00:43and they are still staying in the Philippines.
00:46In defense of B.I., their only answer is to let the foreigners leave the country.
00:51Even if they are allowed to enter other countries,
00:54they are not allowed to enter their own jurisdictions.
00:56It's their prerogative, it's their, as human beings,
01:02but not in the Philippines.
01:03When they're blacklisted in the Philippines, they can't re-enter anymore.
01:06The B.I. is still waiting for the tickets and other documents
01:10from the countries where they were allowed to be deported,
01:13and this is the only thing they are following.
01:15We take any outbound tickets from foreign nationals
01:20because we don't want to wait anymore for anything else.
01:23The main goal is to deport this person quickly,
01:28as quickly as possible, and wherever they go.
01:31Because if they're deported, you're banning it in our country,
01:36they're not banned in any other countries.
01:38It turns out that there are still more than 11,000 foreigners in the Philippines
01:43who are being blacklisted by the B.I. and other government agencies
01:46who used to work for the POGO, but now they're illegal aliens.
01:50But there are more than 500 who were caught
01:53and more than 200 who will be deported back to their country.
01:57They are now directly blacklisted in the Philippines.
02:00The B.I. is now speeding up the deportation process
02:04for other people to be caught.
02:05Once their deportation order came out,
02:09they were charged, they were proven to be illegal aliens,
02:14so their deportation order will come out.
02:17The only requirements for deportation is just their travel document.
02:22We have coordinated with the embassies
02:24to help us expedite the issuance of travel documents
02:28for foreign nationals with no travel documents.
02:32Aside from the illegal aliens,
02:34the B.I. is also targeting Filipinos who may be victims of scam hubs in other countries.
02:40The B.I. is now tightening its grip
02:42when it comes to screening Filipinos who plan to work for the B.P.O.
02:46outside of the Philippines.
02:48Perhaps because the market is dead already in the Philippines,
02:52there are no big online gaming hubs in the Philippines,
02:56so Filipinos are the ones they recruit outside of the country.
03:00According to the B.I., 100 years ago,
03:02only 100 Filipinos were caught as possible victims of scam hubs.
03:07And now, in just two months of 2025,
03:1050 Filipinos have already been caught.
03:13Luisa Erispe, for Pambansang TV, in Bagong, Philippines.
