00:00A total of 875 youth successfully graduated from the La Union Police Provincial Offices Police Community Academy

00:08in San Fernando City, La Union on February 21,

00:12completing months of training aimed at fostering leadership, discipline, and civic responsibility.

00:19Kathleen Ramones from the Philippine Information Agency, La Union, tells us more.

00:24The PCA program, first launched in Bawang in 2018, is a flagship initiative of the Police Regional Office 1,

00:33which is designed to engage and educate young individuals aged 12 to 22 in crime prevention,

00:38disaster preparedness, law enforcement awareness, and civic duties.

00:42Over the years, it has expanded across the Locust Region, training more than 3,500 students

00:48and strengthening police-community relations.

00:51Before their graduation, the participants underwent a PCA boot camp, the program's final and most intensive activity.

00:58The boot camp reinforced practical skills such as leadership, teamwork, emergency response, and community policing,

01:05allowing the participants to experience first-hand training on maintaining peace and order.

01:10During the graduation ceremony, the 875 graduates were awarded the Baguis Badge,

01:16a symbol of discipline, commitment, and civic engagement.

01:20I hope we can continue this because this is a project, an initiative of the PNP,

01:28to bring our youth closer to the good knowledge of the government.

01:37Meanwhile, Justin Marco Villar, one of the youth leader participants from LGU Burgos,

01:43said PCA equipped him with essential skills like first aid, firearm handling,

01:48and police procedures, helping him become a more responsible citizen.

01:52Cultivating leaders, empowering communities.
