00:00It has been more than two days that the rescue operations at the Domala Penta SLBC project
00:06are ongoing.
00:07The rescue operations by the NDRF, Indian Army, fire department, engineers and the whole
00:13administration on ground trying to rescue the eight workers who are entrapped at this
00:18SLBC project.
00:19We are right now at the inlet point of this Domala Penta where the workers had gone inside
00:26for the tunnel boring in this particular place, but due to collapse of the sidewalls
00:33because of the seepage, they are trapped inside.
00:36So 14 kilometres inside this inlet is where the workers are entrapped and administration
00:42is continuously working to rescue these workers at the earliest.
00:47Several techniques and measures were used by the NDRF, SDRF and all the departments,
00:52the group of engineers that have been brought in, but in vain.
00:57The development that is seen is that the amount of mud inside and the current situation inside
01:02has been assessed by the authorities, by the group of engineers and the NDRF and Indian
01:07Army who had gone inside yesterday.
01:09Today a new strategy by the rescue operation here is that the mud or the slush will be
01:18removed slowly, the tunnel boring machine will be cut and then they will try to go inside,
01:24further inside in the slush that is there, in the tunnel that is there where the eight
01:29workers are said to be trapped, who have been trapped inside.
01:32It has been two days with only oxygen, no food, that the workers are still inside, whether
01:39they are alive or not or what is the exact situation is yet to be assessed, but the authorities
01:44say that several times they have called their names, but there was no response from the
01:49workers inside.
01:50It has been two days that dewatering and desilting is going on, the excavators will be sent inside
01:57and the mud and slush will also be removed, is what the authorities have to say.
