00:00The sale of Sun One City LGU's cheaper rice has already begun.
00:04Since then, the NFA has been selling 1,650 rice per sack.
00:10The Agriculture Department has assured that the supply of NFA rice is sufficient.
00:15Isaiah Mirafuentes of PTV in Balitang Pambansa.
00:22The sale of affordable NFA rice here in Sun One City has already begun.
00:27This is the first time that NUSODA has shown interest in selling affordable rice from the National Food Authority.
00:34For 1,650 pesos per sack or 50 kilos, local rice managers can buy rice from the NFA.
00:42That's equivalent to 33 pesos per kilo.
00:46It can be sold by LGU for up to 35 pesos per kilo.
00:51On the first day of its sale in Sun One City Hall, the rice was placed in the hallway of their municipality.
00:56And the sale was done per sack.
00:59For now, we sell per sack, but we can adjust accordingly if there is a demand.
01:06Because our initial 1,000 sacks, in fact, are fully allocated because we pre-registered.
01:13Zamora also bought from Metro Manila Council, which is run by the city mayors of NCR,
01:19hoping that LGUs will not increase the minimum price of NFA rice.
01:24This program is also supported by the Department of Agriculture despite the high price of rice in the market.
01:30This is also the result of the declaration of National Food Emergencies in rice.
01:34The DA also promised that the rice supply will be adequate from the National Food Authority.
01:40We have a lot of stocks in Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Pampanga, and Isabela.
01:48We are ready to ship them here anytime.
01:50Our limitation of 150,000 sacks is the warehouse here in Venezuela.
01:56So as it is depleted, it is going to be replenished.
02:00The DA believes that this program will be the reason to lower the price of rice to the families.
02:07Meanwhile, because of the bumps that were seen in the rice in a Kadiwa store in Queso City,
02:12the government is more committed to maintaining the rice.
02:16In Metro Manila, they are also hoping to start selling cheap rice to the provinces.
02:22Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, and Isabela are on the line.
02:27From PTV, I'm Zania Mirafuentes, Balitang Pambansa.
