00:00A landslide occurred from a mountain in a barangay in Banawe, Ifugao yesterday.
00:07The landslide reached Mayoyao National Road.
00:11No one was injured or damaged in the incident.
00:15The DPWH carried out clearing operations.
00:18Some places in Bulan, Sosugon were submerged in the flood because of the sheer line.
00:25Some roads were flooded because of the flood.
00:30Some people were riding on a raft to cross the river.
00:33Others were washed away by the water in the spillway.
00:37The flood is still coming, but the rain continues in the province.
00:42Two weather systems are now flooding the country, according to the forecast.
00:47Northeast Monsoon or AMIHAN is flooding Cagayan Valley, Metro Manila, and Central Luzon.
00:53Easterlies will bring heavy rain and thunderstorms in Eastern Visayas.
01:02In Mindanao, especially in Caraga, Davao Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Sarangani, and Barm.
01:09In the rainfall forecast in Metro Weather, light to moderate rains are possible tomorrow.
01:13In Aurora, Quezon, and some places in Northern Luzon.
01:16Light to intense rains are possible in most of Western and Eastern Visayas.
01:22In Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Sur, Zamboanga del Sur, Davao del Sur, Lanao del Norte, Zamboanga, and Maguindanao.
01:32Rainfall is possible tomorrow in Metro Manila.
01:37Be prepared for the upcoming high tide in March.
01:41The Energy Regulatory Commission approved the addition of funds to fund plants for renewable energy.
01:48How much? Let's find out with Jonathan Randall.
01:56Anthony is already doing all kinds of saving on electricity.
02:00He has a business to eat, but his last bill for electricity is more than a thousand pesos.
02:08Now, we're almost out of electricity.
02:10Before, our rep was big. Now, it's small.
02:16This dispenser is just cold, but it's not 24 hours anymore.
02:22And in March, it's expected to increase.
02:25The Energy Regulatory Commission or ERC approved the adjustment to the so-called FITOL or Feed-in Tariff Allowance,
02:33which can be seen at the top of the bill.
02:35This is what is proposed to all those who use electricity to fund renewable energy plants such as biomass, solar, wind, and hydro plants.
02:46The proposed amount of 8 centavos per kilowatt hour will be 11 centavos in March,
02:53equivalent to 7 pesos added to the bill for those who consume 200 kilowatt hours in a month.
02:59According to the ERC, there needs to be an increase because the fund that supports the country's renewable energy is running out.
03:07In other words, the 8 centavos that we are collecting is not enough to pay for the renewable energy that is being supplied to us.
03:18Our WESEM rates are too low.
03:20The system of the fund also takes it from WESEM.
03:25Because our WESEM rate is low, we need to separately fund the FITOL fund through this FITOL allowance.
03:36According to Miralco, they are only the recipients of FITOL charges.
03:39They do not receive it, but they remit it to TRANSCO or National Transmission Corporation.
03:46But aside from the FITOL adjustment, are there other additional charges related to electricity?
03:52We do not have an announcement in terms of the generation charge for this.
03:58The only cost that usually increases every month.
04:02And so we will need to wait for the final billings from all our suppliers.
04:08Miralco and other distribution utilities are still asking for FITOL in 2015, according to the ERC's order.
04:15But in 2023, it was suspended for a year because the fund was not enough for renewable energy.
04:22And to help Filipinos in their love for electricity.
04:25But now, is there still hope that the ERC will suspend it again?
04:31We are always prepared to monitor.
04:34If it needs to be suspended, it will be suspended.
04:37We will stop the collection.
04:39But for now, we need to implement this so that we can pay those who supply us with renewable energy.
04:48For GMA Integrated News, Jonathan Andal, for Tutok 24 Horas.
