00:00Good evening Sadler's fans. Walsall ran out 2-0 winners against Morecambe at the Mazuma
00:08Mobile Stadium earlier today thanks to goals from Taylor Allen and Jamie Jellis in the
00:16second half. Matt Sadler made two changes from the 3-1 win over Chesterfield at Bescott
00:25last weekend. Charlie Lakin was forced to drop out due to a sickness bug. Harry Williams
00:31was rested as a precaution due to the knot that he had to his knee against Chesterfield
00:37last week. That meant that Osher McEntee started on the right side of the back three with David
00:43Akagbewe sitting in the centre of the back line. Then Brandon Conley was handed his first
00:51league start of the campaign. That brought up an interesting dynamic in the midfield
00:56actually with Conley sitting deep and Jamie Jellis sort of operated between the lines
01:02as a 10. Then Ryan Sturck sometimes slotted in alongside Conley as part of a double pivot
01:10and then in transition would move up into the 8 role and the midfield worked really
01:14well today. Walsall were the stronger side in the first half without creating a great
01:21deal or testing the Morecambe goalkeeper for that matter. Morecambe did have a couple of
01:26sort of half chances in the first half. Tommy Simpkin forced into a couple of saves but
01:31not really anything strenuous. After the break the turning point came when Rhys Williams
01:39was shown a straight red card for pulling back Jamie Jellis and denying a goal scoring
01:45opportunity from that resulting free kick. Taylor Allen crashed a stunning effort in
01:51off the post from around 25 yards out for his sixth goal of the campaign. Morecambe
01:59to their credit responded well to that double setback but Walsall finished the half the
02:06much much stronger and it always felt like they were in control. Walsall had some really
02:11good chances to extend their advantage. Liam Gordon stung the palms of the Morecambe goalkeeper.
02:17Levi Amanchi who came on planted a header wide and eventually the second goal arrived
02:22when Adoma also came on in the second half, worked the ball inside from the left and Jamie
02:28Jellis managed to create a space for himself on the edge of the box and sent an unerring
02:36finish into the net so that made it back to back wins for Walsall in League 2 and it's
02:42an eight point lead for the Sadlers.
