00:00So, King Thutmose. Nice to have you. King Thutmose, the second tomb was the last undiscovered
00:09royal tomb of the 18th Egyptian dynasty. Why is this such an extraordinary and significant
00:16discovery?
00:17Well, I mean, having a kind of new tomb, as it were, of any pharaoh is always going to
00:24be exciting. You know, Pharaoh was among the most powerful and wealthy men anywhere in
00:30the planet in their day. And these tombs, we know in cases where they've been well-preserved,
00:36are often stuffed full of the finest objects that human beings had created at that time.
00:45Thutmose II ruled at a particularly rich and powerful period for the Egyptians. And we
00:52know already of the whereabouts of the tombs of almost all the kings who come before and
00:56after him. So his was a kind of conspicuous gap in the evidence, and it's been filled.
