00:00Hi Joss, are you relaxed, recharged and ready to go? And then what are you
00:04expecting from your team in the next couple weeks? Yeah I think everyone is in
00:07that space, you've had a nice few days in between the two tours, travelling
00:13here in Abu Dhabi and then yeah everyone very excited here for the build-up into
00:17the first game. What's the thinking behind Jamie Smith at number three? Yeah we just feel
00:22it's a nice position for him to give him a sort of free hit to try and
00:28really impact the game, make that top three really dynamic. Jamie's someone
00:32with incredible talent and taken to international cricket so well that we
00:38feel he's got the game there and can place him in that position to try and
00:41have a really big impact with a number of guys behind him. So he's never
00:45batted in that position but you have full confidence he can sort of carry out the
00:50role with aplomb given how well he started his international career,
00:53especially in the Test arena? Yeah absolutely, he's obviously got the
00:57game technically and tactically but I think the head on his shoulders seems
01:01to be one of the biggest strengths, nothing seems to phase him too
01:05much. I think you could ask him to bat anywhere in the lineup and it
01:08wouldn't phase him and we feel that gives him a nice position to try and
01:12really impact the game, make some big runs and put some pressure on the
01:16opposition. You obviously dropped that back down to six, do you think that's
01:20where you can get the best out of yourself in the ODI format and
01:23rediscover your best form? Yeah I think, to be honest, I feel very confident in
01:28my own form. I feel like I've been hitting the ball really well and over
01:33time ODIs has always been my best format so yeah I feel excited,
01:38optimistic and I think one thing with all the lineups you can always move
01:43around, dependent on the game so yeah looking forward to it.
01:52Yes, in ODI cricket from last four series you lost as those series but
01:59from last one month you're playing in subcontinent conditions although you had
02:04some bad series result losing both white ball series so on one side how much it
02:13is positive for you and your team that you are playing in these conditions from
02:16last one month and on the second side in sense of morality losing those all ODI
02:21series how much that count for team spirit? Yeah I think the conditions will
02:27will be different here as they were in India. I think everywhere you go around
02:30the world everywhere has its own nuances and different conditions so we've got
02:36lots of guys who've played in Pakistan before, guys who've played in the PSL so
02:40sharing those experiences and then every day in a game of cricket you got
02:43to turn up and assess conditions and play accordingly and and work on that
02:47and yeah besides results the the environment in the group is great the
02:52the mood in the the camp is is really excited and the perception is one of
02:58huge optimism looking looking forward so we know we've got a lot of talent we
03:01know we want to perform to the level that we know we're capable of working
03:07hard to to do that and we know the results will come just first of all
03:12very warm welcome to Pakistan the question is your opponent which is
03:16facing tomorrow Australia their three premier fastballer in the name of
03:19Cummins, Hazlewood and Stark at the absence so do you think you have an
03:23extra advantage in tomorrow's clash? Yeah the three guys you mentioned
03:29there have been a real pillar of success for Australia for for a long period of
03:33time so naturally there'll be a miss for their team but I've got some top
03:38players to step into those shoes as well and Australia always know over time
03:43have performed very well in ICC tournaments so we expect a really tough
03:47challenge England and Australia there's always a great rivalry and and a
03:51competitive match and and obviously in a Champions Trophy format you know each
03:56game is really yeah massive game so yeah we look forward to it.
04:01Thank you for being here at Pakistan and you always love to visit Pakistan only two
04:09countries feel scary over to be over here the the country will be different
04:16crowd will be different but I assure you that fun and thrill will be more than
04:21issues what do you think Toss will matter or not? Yeah well we're excited to
04:32be in Pakistan as well and the Toss may play a role in the game but I think we
04:38all played long enough now to know that whatever happens at the Toss we win or
04:42lose it you've got to play well enough to win the game of cricket. As far as you
04:48playing 11-11 is concerned for the match against Australia so if we look at your
04:54bowling attacks you have three passers and one regular specialist spinner in
04:59the side and two more spin options so do you think in Pakistan on Pakistan
05:05tracks you you will have seen the first match between Pakistan and New Zealand
05:08so passers had to face some tough time so do you think your bowling combination
05:15is right against Australia for the first time for the first game? Yeah we do that's
05:19why we you know we back those guys that we've picked you know really exciting
05:24lineup with the ball there the guys who can bowl at high pace but with
05:29different skills if required and obviously Adil has been you know
05:32brilliant performer for us for for such a long time and yeah be ably assisted by
05:37Livingston and Joe Root. What's your opinion about Gaddafi Stadium
05:44pitch how many runs would be enough on this track? Yeah well you know one more
05:51than the opposition is it's going to be crucial so but right now it looks like a
05:56really good wicket some of the tri-series games here obviously were
06:00high-scoring so you know expecting you know a really good wicket and yeah I
06:06think teams will be looking forward to batting on it but absolutely we've got
06:11a as I just said you work it out on the day how is the pitch playing what is
06:15required of you as a as a bowler as a batter to have the most impactful you
06:21know time you can on the on the match. Hi Joseph, Shaquille Khan here you know I would like
06:27to ask you about Joffre Archer especially he had come back after the
06:31long time he played against India he also had a good rivalry with an
06:35Australian player so how do you feel about the Joffre Archer for the
06:38tomorrow match? He has a what with Australia? Joffre Archer is he fully fit for the
06:46tomorrow match and what about his rivalry with the Australian players?
06:50Yeah he's fully fit he's been been fit and firing now for obviously a number of
06:5718 months or so since being out of the game for a while so he's really excited
07:01to put together that kind of length of time back on the field and he's obviously
07:06a superstar of the game for us when someone you know as a captain you always
07:09know you can turn to and throw the ball to and yeah he's obviously going to be
07:14really looking forward to the game tomorrow.
