00:21In a panel discussion at the Munich Security Conference in Germany,

00:25the allegation of China that promised the Philippines

00:30to remove the BRP Sierra Madre from the Union Shoal was pointed out.

00:35Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo denied it.

00:39There was never any promise to take off the ship, take out the ship.

00:43But what we should really take account of is,

00:46why is there such a huge presence of Chinese Coast Guard vessels

00:51around the Union Shoal?

00:52Manalo also confirmed the question of the moderator, D.O. Mano.

00:56Some countries are saying that the Philippines is pushing

01:00the issue of the West Philippine Sea to China too much.

01:04I've never heard that discussed.

01:05That's something that's being, I think, floated around.

01:08Many countries in the region have come out in support of the Philippines.

01:12And I haven't heard any country really come out against

01:15what we've been doing, except for one.

01:17China has yet to address the allegations of Manalo in Munich,

01:20but it has previously denied that they are the part of the West Philippine Sea

01:25that is part of their Nine-Dash Line,

01:27a line that was destroyed by the International Arbitral Tribunal in 2016.
