00:00After the total ban on the pogo industry was implemented,
00:03the government felt a huge reduction in its operations in the country.
00:08In the middle of the month, they managed to find more pogo
00:13where they are hiding in small operations.
00:18Aside from this, the Bureau of Immigration also monitored
00:21the illegal recruitment of Filipinos who work in scam hubs.
00:26This is Kenneth Paciente of PTV for Panbansa News.
00:33Yes, princess, the government is doing its best
00:37to stop the illegal operations of pogo here in the country.
00:43In his press briefing earlier,
00:44the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission, or PAOC,
00:48insisted that they will continue their operations
00:50to chase away individuals who continue to operate pogo.
00:55In fact, the PAOC found that 2,121 individuals
01:00have been deported from their raids until December 2024,
01:06while 337 individuals remain in their pogo custodial facility
01:12waiting to be deported.
01:14The Bureau of Immigration also continued its actions
01:17for the pogo ban in the country.
01:19According to Dana Sandoval, the spokesperson of the BI,
01:22of the 33,863 pogo workers in the PAG Corps,
01:2824,779 of them have already downgraded their visas.
01:3322,609 have already left the country,
01:37while 11,254 remain here in the Philippines.
01:42But following their planned separation operation
01:45from last month until this February,
01:47this resulted in the arrest of 518 individuals.
01:52They are now preparing for their deportation.
01:56And because of the total ban,
01:57illegal pogo operators are now targeting
02:01small areas like condos and hotels.
02:04This is why the law enforcement agencies are now monitoring this.
02:09The BI is also monitoring the individuals
02:12who recruit Filipinos
02:14to work abroad
02:17as a customer service representative
02:20for BPO companies.
02:21But when it comes to that,
02:23illegal pogo operators will work in scam hubs.
02:28Princess, even though there are obstacles
02:31that the BI and PAOC are facing
02:33in their pursuit of illegal pogo workers,
02:36they were also allowed to continue their mandates
02:40to follow the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
02:44on the total ban of pogo operators here in the Philippines.
02:48That's all for the latest.
02:49Back to you, Princess.
02:51Thank you very much, Kenneth Paciente of PTV.
