00:00China patrolled the South China Sea with the Philippine, American and Canadian Joint Patrols.

00:07The negotiation for the defense treaty between the Philippines and Canada is in full swing.

00:13Chino Gaston is the one who is in the spotlight.

00:18Along with the Multilateral Maritime Cooperative Activity or MMCA in the West Philippine Sea of the Philippines,

00:25Canada and America yesterday confirmed by the AFP that it has sighted a Chinese Navy warship and a research vessel and a helicopter.

00:35According to China, their ships had a routine patrol yesterday.

00:40China also said that the Philippines' invitation of foreign countries for the joint patrols

00:46is just a cover-up for the instigation of chaos, media hype and violation of the rights of China in the sea.

00:53But according to the AFP, the Philippines has the right to conduct joint patrols and the MMCA under international law.

01:02In the Armed Forces of the Philippines, we are anchored on international laws in this.

01:07The arbitral ruling ruled in the favor of the Philippines and this is the right of our country to perform these exercises in our exclusive economic zone.

01:17The AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo Bronner wants more countries to join the MMCA

01:23while the Department of National Defense has already started negotiations in Canada

01:28to form the defense treaty known as the Visiting Forces Agreement in America.

01:33We are looking forward to having more of this with other countries such as Italy, United Kingdom and France.

01:42Before, we don't have joint sails with these countries and this is a good sign

01:46because it means that again, we share interests and we have common objectives.

01:52But not only the joint patrols in the EEZ of the Philippines are being orchestrated by China.

01:57The Chinese Foreign Ministry of the Philippines promised not to comply with the promise

02:02that the U.S. Typhoon Missile Launcher will be removed from Luzon.

02:06But according to the AFP, the Philippines and China have no such promise.

02:10We have no such commitment.

02:12Our Typhoon Missiles are for the side of the AFP.

02:15It is used for our exercises, for training purposes.

02:20In April 2024, the U.S. Typhoon Missile System arrived in the Philippines

02:24so that the Filipino soldiers can learn how to use it.
