00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. attended the annual gathering of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines.

00:06And because the election is coming up, the President reminded us of the true purpose of the public service.

00:19During the election, according to President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.,

00:24in the local and barangay, the fight is the hottest.

00:29The hottest election is being fought by the local government.

00:34As a matter of fact, I think, you may agree with me, mayors, you can see this,

00:40the hottest election is the barangay.

00:42That's the hottest because everyone knows each other, everyone is related.

00:47That's why it's personal.

00:50Before the 28th of March, or the start of the campaign for the candidates in the provinces,

00:58cities, and barangays, President R. Marcos reminded us,

01:02In the heat of the campaign, in the heat of the election,

01:07let's not forget that we are here,

01:12we entered the public service to help the people.

01:18More than 1,006 mayors in cities and municipalities

01:23will participate in the upcoming midterm election.

01:27Before the termination of the candidates,

01:30President R. Marcos said that the League of Municipalities of the Philippines

01:34will hold a two-year meeting.

01:37One question is important.

01:40Will the lives of Filipinos be better because of our actions?

01:45If your answer is yes, we know that we have fulfilled our duty.

01:50And whatever path you choose after this,

01:53whether you seek another mandate or move on to a new chapter in your lives,

01:58I trust that you will embrace the same grit, passion, and commitment to service.

02:03President R. Marcos assured continuous assistance to local governments

02:09to provide proper and high-quality public services.

02:14Including the implementation of the electronic business one-stop shop.

02:19Last year alone, more than 100 LGUs followed E-Boss.

02:23One thousand and two hundred started the automation of their transactions.

02:28The implementation of the new electronic procurement system

02:31and the distribution of products and services to the public

02:35will not only speed up the process, but will also help fight corruption.

02:41We need to use the best technology

02:46to provide the best service to the people.

02:50This will help us to be faster, more affordable,

02:56and more accountable in all our actions for the people.
