00:00For 60 minutes, Earth Hour unites people from all over the world to show their commitment
00:11to the planet.
00:12But for these eco-warriors, Earth Hour is more than just turning off lights for an hour.
00:17It's a lifetime commitment as they regularly conduct various activities to help protect
00:21Mother Earth.
00:22Earth Hour is only celebrated annually once in a year.
00:26That won't help the Earth to change or be a better place.
00:31So by this recycling and doing all these other sorts of activities, we can everyday do our
00:37duties to the nature.
00:38I started writing this blog, which is Green Living in Dubai, in 2009.
00:45But I write on the blog only the simple things.
00:49For example, I keep in mind that if anybody is reading my blog, they should understand
00:55I don't use the technical terms from the sustainable development that's filled.
01:02So I write simple things like how you can go green in your regular life, at your home,
01:09in your office.
01:10As citizens of planet Earth, we all have this sense of duty and responsibility towards the
01:15Earth.
01:16It's our responsibility to ensure that the future generations have something left.
01:20Because there are people coming after us who need to exist.
01:23And for their sustenance, they need these resources and stuff.
01:26Earth Hour, which will be celebrated on March 19, is now in its ninth year.
01:31Encourage its residents in the UAE and 177 other countries to switch off lights.
01:36Lights will be switched off in a unified gesture reminding people to turn off electrical appliances
01:41in their homes, turn down air conditioning, and burn less fossil fuels to reduce greenhouse
01:47gases.
