00:11The flat down rates of taxis in Dubai will increase from 3 dirhams to 5 dirhams from
00:15December 1, the Roads and Transport Authority has announced. The RTA also revised the charges
00:21for booking taxis with non-peak hour bookings to cost 8 dirhams instead of 6 and peak hour
00:26bookings being charged 12 dirhams instead of 10. Protesters set buildings ablaze and
00:32looted stores in Ferguson early on Tuesday after a grand jury chose not to press charges
00:37against the police officer who shot dead Michael Brown. President Barack Obama and the family
00:42of the late teenager appealed in vain for calm after a grand jury found that Darren
00:46Wilson had shot Brown in self-defence.
00:49Six GCC foreign ministers will hold a meeting in Doha today in preparation for next month's
00:54annual summit. The meeting will be chaired by Qatar's foreign minister, Khalid bin Mohamed
00:58al-Attiyah.
01:00Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said in a televised address last night that the positions
01:04of Tehran and six world powers over its nuclear programme had come closer after a week of
01:09marathon talks that failed to clinch a final agreement. Iran and the world powers have
01:13extended the talks until June 30, 2015.
01:17Indian Kashmir headed to the polls today under tight security with the Hindu nationalist
01:21BJP eyeing power for the first time in the tense and disputed Muslim-majority state.
01:27More than one million residents are eligible to vote in the first stage of staggered elections.
01:31A teaser trailer for the new Star Wars movie will release on November 28. J.J. Abrams,
01:37director of the upcoming seventh film in the iconic franchise, tweeted that the trailer
01:41will be 88 seconds long.
