00:00Let's find out what happened in the first ever Aviation Media Forum
00:04where they discussed the bill that was passed to revive the aviation industry here in the country.
00:12One of the current problems that the aviation industry of the Philippines is facing
00:16is the lack of pilots.
00:18Because while the demand for air travel is increasing,
00:21the number of train pilots' supply is decreasing.
00:25As a response to this,
00:27a number of people held the first ever Aviation Media Forum
00:31at the Philippine State College of Aeronautics
00:33to discuss the National Aviation Academy of the Philippines Bill
00:37that is reviving the aviation industry here in the country.
00:40PhilSKA was happy to launch the Media Forum
00:43with the Philippine Media Network Service Cooperative,
00:46Southern Metro Manila Press Club,
00:48and Airport Press Club to discuss the provisions of the bill
00:52and its importance in expanding PhilSKA
00:55as a national academy
00:57that focuses on the promotion of knowledge,
01:00capability, and skills in the field of aviation.
01:03According to Atty. Marie Cuarto,
01:05appointed by Senator Ramon Bong-Revilla, Jr.,
01:07who is the sponsor of Senate Bill No. 2801 or NAAP Bill,
01:11this bill is a great help
01:13to reduce the brain drain of qualified air traffic controllers in the Philippines.
01:18In addition,
01:19NAAP will provide demographic access
01:21for potential students
01:23who deserve a scholarship grant.
01:39According to Congressman Ron Salo,
01:41approved by House Bill 7323,
01:43NAAP Bill will also serve as an opportunity
01:47for Filipinos who want to be included in the aviation sector.
01:50PhilSKA President Marwin de la Cruz clearly gave
01:54one of the highlights of NAAP
01:56where it will have a Skills Training Council
01:59that will serve as a guide to practices,
02:01not only in the academic field,
02:03but also in the industry.
02:05Our skills training will be governed
02:10by the Skills Training Council
02:13that will dedicate in reviewing
02:15what particular training and skills
02:18needed by our graduates
02:20so that we can immediately address
02:22the possible gap
02:24from academic to industry.
02:26There is no negative impact
02:28of this plan to some students of PhilSKA.
02:31I'm excited and I really look forward
02:34especially on the program about
02:37Skills Training Council
02:39because it will really help us
02:42to become affiliated with the professionals in the industry.
02:44Being part of a guild of scholars,
02:47we're happy to know that the bill
02:49wants to offer more scholarships.
02:51So we're happy that our questions in mind
02:54have been answered through the forum.
02:56NAAP Bill is looking to increase
02:58the quality of education
03:00and make Filipinos
03:02globally competitive in the aviation industry.
