USC Trojans Improving On Fast Starts
Transcript
00:00Yeah, we just talked to, I mean, they have probably one of the deepest teams I've ever
00:04seen just because they come off the bench with Carr and Richardson, they're as good
00:07as anyone on their team.
00:10And you know, Fiddler was a good, really good player out of the portal that they got.
00:15Booker is ultra talented.
00:18But we just, you know, the theme of transition defense was really important, but we didn't
00:24want to lose our offensive rebounding aggressiveness.
00:27That was an area that we had really failed at most of the year, at offensive rebounding.
00:34And we've gotten better in Big Ten play, I don't know how, other than the fact that maybe
00:38some teams are bigger than us and we're able to now outreact teams with 6-6 guys and outreact
00:446-10 guys because it's happened now for a few games.
00:46So we, although we wanted transition defense, we didn't talk about sending three guys back.
00:52We just talked about your first three steps being sprinter steps, but still going to the
00:55offensive glass.
00:57Coach, a great win and congratulations.
01:04How did you get over the UCLA game and prepare so that you came out, your team came in on
01:09fire in this game, whereas against UCLA, you started very slowly.
01:13What was different?
01:14Just, you know, we talked about our slow start.
01:21We had a lot of conversations about opportunity, you know, and understanding, you know, like
01:30there were some loose balls I thought we could have gotten against UCLA and we talked about
01:34those.
01:35We showed those and we talked, you know, like if you're playing the seventh ranked team
01:38and an undefeated team and a team that's 18-2 and hadn't lost, like I said, since, you know,
01:44late November, you got to play like you have.
01:51Yeah.
01:52Yeah.
01:53Yeah.
01:54Yeah.
01:55Yeah.
