00:00I'd love to hear your reaction to the firing of McCarthy and the hiring of Schottenheimer
00:09after they wasted everyone's time for two or three days talking about Deion Sanders
00:15as if that was going to happen.
00:18And then, I mean, honestly, what a letdown after that to go with Schottenheimer, if you
00:23ask me.
00:25My reaction was pretty simple here.
00:27And this is not a reaction against Brian Schottenheimer.
00:30I have no idea if Schottenheimer is going to be a good head coach.
00:32Would I have hired him?
00:33No.
00:34It should tell you something that, Scotty, how many coaching interviews do you think
00:37were held by all the teams this offseason?
00:4060?
00:41I mean, the Bears and Jets did like 20 each, it seemed like, yet Schottenheimer had one
00:45interview from the Cowboys.
00:47All right?
00:48Jerry Jones telling you, oh, we did an exhaustive search.
00:51You interviewed four coaches, right?
00:54You interviewed Schottenheimer, Saleh, Leslie Frazier.
00:57You interviewed all guys that you can control.
01:00That's all you did.
01:01Deion Sanders was never going to coach the Cowboys.
01:05What does Jerry Jones love?
01:07Jerry Jones loves the spotlight.
01:09He loves, after a win or a loss, no matter what happens, he loves having that scrum with
01:13the media to talk about everything.
01:15And if he would have hired Deion, he might have had to give that up because the media,
01:20they may want to go talk to Deion and not him.
01:22All right?
01:23Because Deion may even give him a better coach than Jerry would.
01:25So Deion was never coming there.
01:27You know, I told Carver this the other night, I'll always be a Cowboy fan, Scotty.
01:30You and I are about the same age, right?
01:32I go back to Starback, Dorsett, Randy White, Two Tall Jones, all those guys, my heroes
01:36growing up, right?
01:37Danny White in the 80s, who never really got the love he deserved here.
01:40And, you know, those Cowboys, you may have hated them, but you respected them, right?
01:45The 90s with Aikman, same thing here.
01:47The Cowboys are a running joke now.
01:49That's all they are, are a joke.
01:51Jerry Jones has made them a joke.
01:52I didn't even realize this, the Cowboys have four playoff wins.
01:56Forget 30 years without a championship.
01:58They have four playoff wins in 30 years.
02:01Four!
02:02That's just nuts.
02:04It's just absolutely nuts here.
02:06Jerry Jones has destroyed the Cowboys.
02:08You know, I use this line all week.
02:10You know, the best thing, what do they say the best thing the devil ever did was convince
02:14people he doesn't exist?
02:15The best thing Jerry Jones has ever done is convince people he cares about winning.
02:20He does not care about winning.
02:21He may want to win, but he doesn't care about winning.
02:24All right, that's why he's always in control here.
02:26Oh, he tells you, I'm the best man for the job.
02:28No, you're not.
02:29You know, you're not.
02:30And by the way, you know, I didn't plan on getting mad when I knew you were going to
02:33bring up the Cowboys here.
02:34And even my wife, my wife actually told me, are you going to yell and scream again?
02:37I'm like, no, I'm going to be calm here.
02:38And it's not the question that makes me mad.
02:40It's when I start thinking about all the lies that Jerry Jones has told us.
02:43I'm all in.
02:45I'm a poker player.
02:46Your definition of all in is a little different than mine here.
02:49And you keep hiring.
02:50Just, you know, stop peeing down my back and telling me it's raining.
02:54All right, Scotty, I'm a fan, but I am no longer going to.
02:58I'm not going to live and die by Cowboys winning and losing during the season.
03:01I want them to win, but I'm not going to live and die by it anymore.
