00:00It will be a little inconvenient for me.
00:01I'll move forward.
00:02It depends on where it's going to be.
00:04Today, Chancellor Rachel Reeves announced the government will be supporting a third runway at Heathrow Airport.
00:09I can confirm today that this government supports a third runway at Heathrow
00:15and is inviting proposals to be brought forward by the summer.
00:19I am in the surrounding areas to ask locals how they feel about the decision to back the expansion.
00:25It will be a little inconvenient for me because I live very close by,
00:28but I also think, since they've been trying to do it since 1930,
00:32the chances of it getting done whilst I'm still alive are pretty remote.
00:36Well, a third runway, it will impact the residents, like I say, air pollution and the traffic pollution,
00:41air traffic in Heathrow area side.
00:44So we are campaigning against no third runway as a resident, as a local ward councillor.
00:50I'm all for it because it's needed for jobs, more jobs.
00:56And to do with our economic situation at the moment.
01:01It's good, there'll be more jobs.
01:04But the only problem is, it depends on where it's going to be.
01:06If people have to move out of their houses, it wouldn't be very good
01:10because you've had people around here that's lived here for donkey's years.
01:14They were born and bred around here.
01:15I mean, they were going to build T5 and a lot of people were against that,
01:20but they ended up building it.
01:21So my assumption is that no matter what happens, they're going to be building the third runway.
