00:00It looks low to severe heatwave conditions through much of the country, WA, NT, western
00:07Queensland and much of New South Wales for today, tomorrow and into Tuesday.
00:13We're going to see temperatures for many of our inland areas get in the high 30s to low
00:1740s and that heat will get down to around the Sydney area on Tuesday with temperatures
00:23in the mid 30s for the city, could get into the low 40s through parts of western Sydney
00:27as well, but much of the inland looking at low to mid 40s later this afternoon and especially
00:33on Monday and Tuesday.
00:34Well it's going to be very hot for people going out today, so what are weather conditions
00:39looking like for the rest of the country?
00:41Yeah well today that heat is going to impact New South Wales in the coming days, it's actually
00:46in South Australia today and that's leading to some high fire dangers for much of southern
00:51South Australia and also temperatures in the high 30s to low 40s including Adelaide looking
00:56at 37.
00:58But our concern really is tomorrow through parts of South Australia and much of western
01:02and central Victoria where hot, dry and windy weather is going to lead to extreme fire dangers
01:09for much of eastern South Australia and all of western and central Victoria.
01:14Now that does include the Mount Lofty Ranges in South Australia and the Melbourne metropolitan
01:18area.
01:19We could see temperatures get into the high 30s for Adelaide before a morning cool change
01:23but much of Victoria is likely to see low 40s including Melbourne at 42 and could even
01:29see mid 40s along the Murray and that'll all be ahead of a gusty cooler change moving through
01:34during the late afternoon and evening through parts of Victoria and we could see some dry
01:39lightning with that as well.
01:40So definitely concerns for those in eastern South Australia and western and central Victoria
01:46tomorrow.
01:47Then as we mentioned earlier that heat will move into New South Wales with thunderstorms
01:50on Tuesday.
01:52But elsewhere, rain and storms across the tropical north continue.
01:55We could see rain and storms increase on the north tropical coast leading to some heavy
01:59falls there Monday through Wednesday and also the heat looks to return after a cooler few
02:03days through parts of western and southwestern WA including Perth.
02:07So a lot going on around the country at the moment.
