00:42Thousands of people have protested across Slovakia against the policies of Prime Minister
00:46Robert Fico, who they accuse of being pro-Russia.
00:50The latest wave of rallies was fuelled by Fico's recent trip to Moscow to meet Vladimir
00:55Putin, a rare visit to the Kremlin by an EU leader since the 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
01:01Fico's recent remarks that Slovakia could leave the European Union and NATO have also
01:06sparked anger among protesters.
01:09Earlier this week, Fico accused protest organisers of being in contact with unspecified foreign
01:15forces who he says are working towards engineering a coup.
01:19Fico linked those accusations to a report by the country's spy service that he presented
01:24in Parliament on Tuesday.
01:26The opposition dismissed that report and accused Fico of misusing the SIS for political purposes.

01:37is trying to frighten the Slovak population.

01:57a concrete canopy collapsed at Novi Sad train station in November.

02:06and curbing democratic freedoms.
02:09Vucic held his own rally with thousands of his supporters meeting in the central town
02:13of Jagodina.
02:14Vucic blamed unspecified foreign forces for fuelling the protest movement and called for
02:19a dialogue with the protest leaders.
02:23Fifteen people were killed when a concrete canopy at Novi Sad train station collapsed
02:27on the 1st of November.
02:29Protesters blamed the disaster on sloppy construction work caused by government corruption.
02:34Prosecutors filed charges against 13 people, but the former construction minister has since
02:39been released, fuelling doubts over the probe's independence.
02:48Hamas has revealed the names of the four hostages it says it will release on Saturday
02:52as part of the ongoing Gaza ceasefire agreement with Israel.
02:56The four hostages are all female soldiers and have been named as Karina Ariyev, Daniela
03:01Gilboa, Naama Levy and Liri Alberg.
03:05They're set to be freed in exchange for 180 Palestinians imprisoned by Israel.
03:10Under the first phase of the ceasefire deal, a total of 33 hostages are expected to be
03:15released over the course of six weeks.
03:18In Gaza, the ceasefire has allowed Palestinians to attempt to return to their homes, most
03:23of which have been completely destroyed by Israeli airstrikes.
03:29Civilians in the south will be allowed to take a coastal road to northern Gaza from
03:33Saturday where Israeli troops are expected to withdraw.

03:42families have been able to receive full food rations.

04:03by Holocaust survivors, international guests and Polish authorities.
04:07Organisers say there will be no speeches by politicians and only survivors of the death
04:12camp will speak.
04:22The commemorations take place in Auschwitz, a town that was under German occupation during
04:27World War II where the Nazis operated the most notorious of their death camps.
04:33More than 1.1 million people were murdered at Auschwitz.
