00:00The Central Geological Programming Board is an organization that has been going on for 60 years.
00:09The work of this organization is that wherever geological work is being done in the country,
00:17be it GSI, or coal ministry, or state government, or a central groundwater board,
00:28any Government of India institution, or state institution, or private sector,
00:34whoever is working in geology, all of them have to come together.
00:40And with an integrated approach, everyone has to come together and take the work of geology forward.
00:48How to take it forward? There are many benefits of geological work.
00:54First, mining is done on the basis of geological work.
00:59Mining projects are taken up.
01:01Second, on the basis of geological work, we see how landslides are happening, where they are happening.
01:07If a tunnel is being built, what stability should be there in it?
01:11If there is a lake on top of a mountain, if there is a lake near a glacier,
01:16what is its strength, how to manage it?
01:19So, you must have seen that disaster management people from the Home Ministry have also come here.
01:25People from groundwater have also come here.
01:29People from Research and Development, which is IMMT in Bhubaneswar, have also come here.
01:34Secretaries from the state government have also come here.
01:37We are going to work on 2-3 focus areas, including all of them.
01:42There are two things, as the Secretary said, we are moving forward in technology advancement.
01:47We are now using drone-based technology.
01:50Earlier, we used to spend a lot of time mapping.
01:53Now, it will be faster with drone-based technology.
01:55On a pilot basis, we have taken two projects in India.
01:59One project is in Rajasthan, and another project is in Odisha.
02:04In the pilot project also, Odisha has been selected,
02:07and that one project we have taken in the Mayurban district of Odisha.
02:10I think we will see the result, and if it is useful,
02:13and if it is giving better results, then we will go on in this.
02:19You must be knowing that Odisha is a very mineral-rich state.
02:23We are getting nearly all minerals here.
02:26So, the area which we have selected for the drone-based technology,
02:31that is for copper.
02:32That is mainly known for copper, that copper belt,
02:35that is in the continuation of Simbhum Sier zone.
02:38It is on the boundary of Jharkhand and Odisha.
