Sometimes credited for “pioneering” the vampire scene on TV, he’s now become one of the head-turners on Bigg Boss. This is the story of Vivian Dsena.

00:00His brusqueness in Bigg Boss was reminiscent of his role as the irascible vampire Abhay Raichand.
00:09Vivian De Sena wasn't exactly palatable for his Bigg Boss housemates,
00:16but he emerged as one of the most popular contestants on the show.
00:21He was born on 28th June 1988 in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh,
00:25to a Hindu mother and a Christian father of Portuguese descent.
00:28He inherited the germ for sports from his father Duncan,
00:32who was a footballer, and mother Shamlata, who was an athlete.
00:35He studied at a military school for two years, where he learned several sports,
00:39including horse riding, and started playing football from the age of 10.
00:43While he had one foot on the field, he had the other in the kitchen.
00:46He said growing up, he used to shadow his mother as she cooked,
00:50and that's how he cultivated cooking as a hobby as well.
00:59After graduation, he took part in a Gladrags Manhunt contest.

01:07Indian Gladrags magazine. This became the entry point for Vivian in the world of TV.
01:16At the age of 21, he debuted as a supporting character on Kasam Se.
01:22But he became a household name through his third project,
01:25Pyaar Ki Yeh Ek Kahani, which was a supernatural TV serial loosely inspired from the Twilight series.
01:31The Daily Soap introduced the then 22-year-old as the first vampire on Indian television.
01:39He met his future wife, Vabis Dorabji, on the show, who played a supporting role.
01:44He married her at age 25, but they separated three years later in 2016.
01:49The man who loves stunts dabbled in reality shows such as Khatron Ke Khiladi and Jhalak Dikhla Ja.
01:55Vivian worked on a couple of shows such as Shakti, Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki and Sirf Tum.
02:01At age 31, he adopted Islam and later said,
02:04I find a lot of peace and solace in praying five times a day.
02:07Three years later, he married Egyptian journalist Nuran Ali, who was settled in Bahrain.
02:18While his TV appearances remained sporadic, with only four full-time Daily Soaps,
02:23Vivian was said to have retained his fan base mostly due to his role as Obair Raichand.
02:28But in his interviews, the actor refrained from sharing information about his personal life.
02:33At age 36, he appeared as a housemaid on Bigg Boss,
02:37where contestants lived between 107 cameras.
02:41Here, his co-contestants called him arrogant for saving courtesy for those he liked,
02:58while his close friendships became examples for those struggling to maintain their bonds with others.
