00:00The first deal was worth $400 million.
00:01I mean, it was almost a deal worth Rs. 1,600-2,000 crores.
00:05I left Kotak when I thought they'd call me to Bombay.
00:08I'm not a Bombay guy.
00:09I'm a hardcore Delhi guy.
00:10You can't become a big man just by doing a job.
00:15Hi.
00:15This is Harshini Grover from Root.
00:17This is all a double-edged sword.
00:21I was quite studious in school.
00:23Not so much till 5th grade.
00:24But after 5th grade, I was quite studious.
00:27I used to come in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade.
00:29I was a quiet, studious, teacher's favourite kind of student.
00:33I was quite good in Chemistry.
00:35People used to cry a lot about Chemistry.
00:37They used to prefer Maths and Physics.
00:39But I got admitted to IIT because I broke Chemistry.
00:43My Maths, Quants and Physics were fine.
00:47But Chemistry was quite solid.
00:53I'm still an introvert.
00:55I've become a public figure.
00:56People think I'm an extrovert when I come on TV.
00:59But fundamentally, I'm an introvert.
01:01I've been an introvert since school days.
01:04I didn't talk much.
01:05I used to get scolded a lot.
01:06I used to say, if a guest comes to your house, talk to him.
01:08I used to have a good one-on-one conversation with people.
01:11But when there's a crowd, I'd go into a shell.
01:17During my IIT days, I used to go on a bike.
01:21That was the only 3 years I was allowed to ride a bike.
01:25It was quite good.
01:26My campus was shorter than the hostel.
01:31There was no red light.
01:32I have good memories of riding a bike.
01:39I met him in the Career Launcher.
01:40We were preparing for CAT.
01:43I followed him and asked him to have lunch with me.
01:47He didn't listen to me.
01:48His initial review wasn't good either.
01:50He asked one of his friends.
01:51He said, he's just like that. Stay away from him.
01:53So, my product review wasn't good.
01:55But eventually, I was...
01:56I am still very persevering.
01:58I have to take up the challenge.
02:00I was clear that eventually, I have to get married to him.
02:06I worked in Kotak for almost 7 years.
02:08It was very good.
02:09I got to work with big businessmen directly.
02:12I had big numbers from the start.
02:14My first deal was worth $400 million.
02:16It was a deal worth almost Rs. 1,600-2,000 crores.
02:20I left Kotak when I thought they'd call me to Bombay.
02:22I'm not from Bombay.
02:23I'm from hardcore Delhi.
02:25So, I left Kotak when I thought they'd call me to Bombay.
02:28I joined a group first.
02:31My friend, Alvinder Deedsa, started it.
02:34While working there, I developed a muscle as a founder.
02:39When I left the group, within 6-8 months, I started working in India.
02:44I was confident that I'll be able to eat and earn.
02:48It's about getting out of the comfort zone of a job.
02:51Whether you want to play a big game or stay in that comfort zone.
02:54I think my wife was very supportive.
02:56So, I thought, let's go into business and do something.
02:59I fundamentally believe that you can't become a big man just by working.
