00:00The government's target is to make travel to the provinces and suburbs of the country fully digital through an enhanced e-travel system.
00:08Mark Salazar will tell you what that is in the first news.
00:15There is still an e-travel system in our provinces and suburbs in 2022.
00:20But it is still not widely used by passengers.
00:23We have seamlessly facilitated the transit of more than 30 million passengers in 18 airports and 35 seaports.
00:36To be honest, 30 million passengers is a small number if 18 airports and 35 seaports are being discussed.
00:44Unfortunately, there are more than 50 million passengers a year.
00:48There is a reason why some people's travel forms are still unpopular.
00:53We still receive complaints from passengers, whether it's Filipinos or foreigners,
01:02primarily on the connectivity, on the processing or the enrollment of their arrival or departure in the system.
01:13If all the digital forms are ready before going to the airport, the journey to the terminals will be faster.
01:21These paper arrival and departure forms are just optional for some.
01:26We have oldies who are not techy about gadgets, our tabs, our cell phones.
01:33Our elders, our senior citizens, don't know how to use them.
01:38That's why this type of form was required.
01:42In order to satisfy passengers, the government launched an enhanced e-travel system.
01:50The e-travel portal, which can be found on the e-GovPH app, is now running smoothly.
01:56A QR code is also being used by passengers from the app for the digital travel forms of the Bureau of Immigration, Customs, Health Declaration, and DOT.
02:07If you are an OFW, all forms are now in the enhanced e-travel system that is required whenever you leave and return to the country.
02:16That means they have more time with their families.
02:19The target of digitalization is to make it similar to the developing countries,
02:24where travel is smooth and the government does its job smoothly.
02:29While sleeping in the airplane, they wake up to fill up the arrival card.
02:35We thought that role is just a drama.
02:37But it's not.
02:39You know what they are doing? They are encoding it manually.
02:42Because the Department of Tourism really needs data.
02:47And a DMW so that you know the OFWs who leave and return.
02:53This is the first news.
02:55Mark Salazar for GMA Integrated News.
