23:44A highball for me and a Tom Collins for you.
23:47Did I guess your drink?
23:48No.
23:49No?
23:50Then you can have anything you want.
23:51I'm not drinking.
23:52Oh, but you deserve one.
23:54You were wonderful tonight.
23:57Oh, I didn't mean to slight you.
23:59Run down to the bar and order yourself a drink.
24:01Tell them it's on me.
24:02No thanks.
24:05Just what are you trying to do?
24:07Put on the dog for her?
24:09Boy, this is the first time I ever heard of a tin horn gambler turning down a freebie.
24:13Who are you?
24:14No, Jim.
24:16Don't worry.
24:17I'm not going to fight this.
24:21I have too much respect for you.
24:23Are you sure it's respect for her?
24:25Or fear of my right?
24:27Let's go outside.
24:28Jim, please, don't.

25:30Oh, officer, the boys have just been playing.
25:33Hello, Farley.
25:34Hello, Nita.
25:34Hello, Lanny.
25:35They've been playing awful rough.
25:37Well, you see, there was teacher some new dance steps
25:39and my feet sure got hot.
25:41This doesn't look like you, Jim McCoy.
25:45Who fired the shot?
25:46Nobody fired a shot here.
25:48Did they?
25:50Did my feet get that hot?
25:52Look for a gun, Dan.
25:53Anything you want to tell me, Nita?
26:00It wasn't anything, really, Lanny.
26:02You men better clear out of here.
26:06Better go, Jim.
26:07Wait for me after the show.
26:09OK, Nita.
26:09I'll see you again, Nita.
26:12And no more playing, Jim.
26:18You sent for me, chief?
26:22Yes.
26:23What was that argument down in Nita's dressing room?
26:25Just that gambler, Jim McCoy.
26:27I told you I didn't want no trouble around this club.
26:30And above all, no shooting.
26:32You had that straight.
26:34And you had to drag the law in here.
26:36Well, everything worked out all right.
26:39Was no fault of yours.
26:41And if it happens again, you're well figured out for yourself.
26:46OK, boss.
26:47It won't.
26:49But at least, now I got a couple of coppers
26:51to give me an alibi for tonight.
27:05Am I glad to be home.
27:07Boy, did you look funny with that cold cream on your face.
27:10You bet.
27:10So I'll let it drop.
27:11It's all over.
27:13Hello, folks.
27:14Hello, Tommy.
27:16Hello, Jim.
27:16Hello.
27:17I knew you'd be bringing the girls home.
27:20Jim, I got to see you.
27:22You folks will excuse me.
27:23I'll see you later.
27:27What's up?
27:28Where were you at dinner tonight?
27:29Oh, tonight?
27:31I was working.
27:33Jim, I got to have some money.
27:36Come on upstairs.
27:37We'll talk about it later.
27:43Nita, what a night.
27:45You said it.
27:46Sally will make some coffee.
27:47Now, that's a pleasure I'll be looking forward to.
27:50We'll be right along, Slim.
27:55Anything wrong, Tommy?
27:56Nothing's the matter.
27:57You don't act like it.
27:59Just because I asked you for a little money?
28:01I'm all right.
28:02Well, you quit asking me so many questions?
28:04Sit down, kid.
28:05You act like you got the jitters.
28:08You better stay away from that Mary Howard crowd.
28:11Will you quit preaching to me?
28:12I'm all right.
28:14I'll go with anybody I please.
28:16Hello, Annabelle.
28:18You poor little fish.
28:21Why, you ain't got no privacy at all.
28:24Here, let go.
28:25Let go.
28:26Well, why don't you stop bothering those fish?
28:29Maybe they're tired.
28:30Tell that to the fish.
28:32I hope you drown, you shark.
28:35Coffee's being served.
28:36Come on, Jim.
28:37Get the glass tray.
28:38Is the coffee perking?
28:39It's bound.
28:40Then let me do the honor.
28:46I'm going to pour it and serve it in swing.
28:49Here I go.
29:07Y'all's coffee fell down.
29:09Why, you!
29:11I'll answer it.
29:16Why, Inspector, come in.
29:17Hello, folks.
29:18Sit down.
29:19What are you worried about?
29:20Coffee brewing tonight?
29:21Of course there is.
29:23Hello, Jim.
29:24I guess you're glad to be off duty, Inspector.
29:26Yes, sir.
29:27It's been a busy night.
29:29Another holdup and killing just off the avenue.
29:31Did you get them?
29:33Not yet.
29:34Happened before midnight.
29:36Safe at a jewelry shop on Jefferson was rifled.
29:39They got a haul of jewels.
29:41Guess they were caught at it by the watchman.
29:44The old fellow probably didn't have a chance.
29:47He was lying near the safe with a bullet in him.
29:49Was he dead?
29:51Yes.
29:53It's probably the same gang that's
29:54been pulling these holdups.
29:56This time, we're going out to get them.
29:58Just to think, you can't tell who you're
30:00rubbing elbows with these days.
30:03If you stumble this time, you'll
30:05stumble right out of my life.
30:10Happy land.
30:12This stormy weather's blown away at last.
30:17It's all right, Sally.
30:19All we have left is a sweet aroma of your coffee.
30:22Thank you, Inspector.
30:24Why don't you try to talk like that, useless?
30:27Oh useless.
30:28Oh, see, I should probably go and make coffee right now,
30:31see if I can get a hold of anything.
30:32Do you mind if I sit here?
30:34Oh, of course not.
30:35What for?
30:36I've got a hook up my hopper.
30:39Tommy's in some kind of trouble, and I think I know just where to find the answer.
30:43Howard?
30:44And that whole crowd, especially Dude Markey.
30:48Well, I can't play it easy.
30:53Aces and Kings.
30:56No good.
30:58Three little deuces.
31:01My, my. I'm always good, but I ain't good enough.
31:05Say Slim, are you sure Jim McCoy said he'd be here tonight?
31:09Now listen, Dude. Whenever Jim McCoy says he's gonna be someplace, boy, he's already there.
31:16Well, I just thought he might be afraid to show up.
31:19Were you saying something, Dude?
31:21Yeah.
31:22Boy, I'm sure glad to see you. I couldn't hold out much longer. Sit right down there. Yes, sir. Sit right down.
31:28I'm willing to forget our little misunderstanding, Dude.
31:32Okay, Jim. Forget it.
31:33Mind if I join the game?
31:35No, get right in. Come on in.
31:37Gonna win our money, eh?
31:39Maybe.
31:40I'll take a snack, gentlemen.
31:42Okay.
31:58I better fin.
32:00I'll call in and raise it five more.
32:02I'll call you and raise you ten.
32:06You know one thing I'll tell you about my brother.
32:09Yes, sir. I got a fine brother. He got fine five children.
32:13I don't think he can raise them.
32:16That's my boy.
32:17Say, what is this? Shut up your mouth.
32:20Hey, you. Sit down.
32:22Well, I was just talking about my brother. That's all.
32:24Just forget about him.
32:33I bet three.
32:37I guess this just ain't my night.
32:40I'll call you anyway, though.
32:44Raise it five.
32:46That'll cost you five more.
32:50I gotta win the next hand.
32:56I bet you 15.
32:58I call your 15.
33:02And raise you the full stack.
33:06What kind of hands are you holding in there?
33:29I bet 15 blues.
33:33I call your 15.
33:37And I'll raise you the stack.
33:47Come on.
33:53I'll bet 15 blues.
33:55Well, that cleans me, boys.
33:58Unless you'll take my I.O.U., dude.
34:00I suppose Murray Howard will, Jim.
34:02Why don't you go in the office in there and ask him?
34:04Why not?
34:05This kind of luck can't last much longer.
34:10Come in.
34:13Hello, Jim.
34:14How's the game going?
34:16Not so good, Murray.
34:17That's rather unusual for you, isn't it?
34:19Yeah.
34:20Well, I'll tell you what.
34:22That's rather unusual for you, isn't it?
34:24Yeah.
34:25Say, Murray.
34:26I'd like to take some dough on my I.O.U.
34:28How much do you want?
34:29500.

34:35Okay.
34:37You know, Jim.
34:39I wouldn't do this for many people.
34:41I appreciate that, Murray.
34:44But your record has always been straight.
34:47Here you are.
34:48One, two, three, four, five.
34:53Thanks, Murray.

43:30fired once in your dressing room I think we've got something here but if you I've

44:05out
44:05a lucky number to play in a man can't say that I'm playing on your plan and you've
44:11got
44:11a chance to win. But that Amy. Says never yeah
44:18what is the number they all play and. What do you think of that number two seventy

47:14Maybe tonight maybe tomorrow we can be married right away don't give me much time
47:20to make up my mind. I can make up for that by all the things I can give you anything
47:25you want you can have those are big promises I've got what it takes to back them
