01:21:59I'm not in the habit of reading lots of movie scripts
01:22:03It was a relatively new experience for me
01:22:06You know what, my first impression of the script was
01:22:08What the hell is this?
01:22:10The script is probably the strongest thing in this movie
01:22:13It's a great story
01:22:14It was my first time reading a script, period, ever
01:22:17Reading a script
01:22:18And so I'm looking at all this dialogue
01:22:20And it took about two weeks for the dialogue to soak in
01:22:23And then I figured out, okay, it was just like a book
01:22:26And so after I read it the second time
01:22:29I said, you know what, this has got some twist to it
01:22:32And I actually read it twice
01:22:35Just to get a good sense of what I was jumping into
01:22:39So I really liked it
01:22:41I thought it was pretty creative
01:22:43It's a totally different outtake on what me
01:22:48Or people that don't live in Vegas
01:22:51Would take from Vegas
01:22:53I was impressed with the writing of the script
01:22:55I thought it was going to be an incredible undertaking
01:22:58You know, considering the means that we were going to have
01:23:01To use to fund the project and everything
01:23:03A lot of the new movies, it seems like
01:23:05They decide to get a little crazy
01:23:07But they try and switch a lot of things up
01:23:08But this is just a good story
01:23:09I mean, great characters, great contrast of characters
01:23:12And the story is what's strong
01:23:14It holds up
01:23:15And even, you'll see many low-budget films
01:23:19To high-budget films
01:23:20If it has a great story in either direction, it works
01:23:29Kelly's a jerk
01:23:31He doesn't know his right from his left
01:23:35Yum, you!
01:23:37What?
01:23:38No, I'm not saying he doesn't know his right from his left
01:23:40Like, right, I mean
01:23:41He doesn't know actually right from left
01:23:43Like when he tells you to walk
01:23:44But other than that, he's a great director
01:23:46He was cool as hell
01:23:47You know, he wasn't like
01:23:48He never got upset
01:23:49We were up here joking around
01:23:51Playing around
01:23:52Just wasting time, basically
01:23:54You know, he was just dinking around
01:23:56And he just kept his cool
01:23:58You know, let's get to work
01:24:00And when he said that
01:24:02That's when we just, you know
01:24:04Took the bull by the horn and just did our job
01:24:06You know, Kelly
01:24:08He's coming into his own as a director
01:24:10Because you can see where he'd want to help the actors
01:24:14And you can see where he'd want to let them run
01:24:16And let people figure it out for themselves
01:24:18And he's cool in the sense that
01:24:21He learns along with the cast
01:24:24Kelly is a terrific director
01:24:26He's very talented
01:24:27He's learning his craft
01:24:29And very amenable and open to ideas
01:24:31I think he listened to actors
01:24:33I think he listened to his other production crew
01:24:36He got a lot of input from people
01:24:38And filtered out, you know, the things that worked for him
01:24:41Working with Kelly as a director
01:24:43Was a lot of fun
01:24:45Because theater directors and film directors
01:24:47I think have vastly different approaches
01:24:49As to how they go about things
01:24:51I've worked with
01:24:53Some directors that were cool
01:24:55And, you know, not assholes on set
01:24:58And, gosh, I mean
01:25:00Honestly, Kelly was
01:25:02It was more like
01:25:04To me, it was more like working with a friend
01:25:08And action!
01:25:12I just can't afford that
